3 SIMPLE TRUTHS ABOUT LOVE THAT CAN CHANGE OUR LIVES

SHARE

Love is one of the most powerful things in this entire world.

No matter where you look, people are craving love. Love is the antidote for every problem, for every hurt, and for every situation. This world is starving for love.

When we experience love and we know that we’re loved, our whole life changes. The reason that we have so many issues in this day and time isn’t the “lack” of love; but the use of it.

God IS love. Therefore we never lack it, we just fail to use it and give it. Many people struggle believing that anyone could and would ever love them. The Truth is, a man died on the cross to prove His love for the world. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8) Not when we’ve cleaned ourselves up. Not only when we’ve had it all together. He died for us, in our place, while we were still in sin. That is love.

The verses 7-8 together says“For rarely will someone die for a just person–though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!”

HERE ARE 3 TRUTHS ABOUT LOVE THAT WE NEED TO GET A HOLD OF:
  1. Love is a grace freely given- We can’t love in/through ourselves; we have to have God to do it through us. His love is perfect, and without condition. We are setting ourselves up for disappointment when we try to do it in our own ability.
  2. Love is a commandment offered- Our greatest responsibility as a Christian is to first love God with everything and to love our neighbors as our-self. Love is the beginning and the foundation of what being a Christian is about. We were loved first by God to send His Son in our place. Then we are told to love Him back first and foremost, then to love our neighbors as we do ourselves.
  3. Love is the reason why we are alive- Jesus is love. Without Him we wouldn’t be alive. He came to offer us eternal life. He came to give us life, and life more abundantly! (John 10:10) Through Him we are loved, and can love others and ourselves with His help.
