We have been trained from an early age to regard and honor our soldiers, and rightly so. After all, the serving men and women who sacrifice so much for our ongoing freedom more than deserve it.
6-year-old Jace Vega certainly takes honoring our soldiers seriously. A photo of the little boy has gone viral after the little first-grader was photographed saluting military members at San Antonio International Airport.
Jace and his family came to meet up with his dad at the airport when he returned from a short trip to Colorado Springs. It was then that the first-grader saw the army men and chose to greet them in a tear-jerking way.
“Why don’t you tell them [the station] what you told me that maybe you want to be a soldier someday, right?” Joe Vega asked his son, who responded: “Yep.”
Joe also told reporters that he is so very proud of his little boy. He also added that the salute may have even opened up a few doors for Jace in the future.
“A couple of companies have reached out to us and some other people just reached out to my wife,” he said. “They want to use his picture in the airport somewhere in Florida. A couple of locally owned veteran companies who do shirts, that’s locally owned and operated, they’re going to do a couple of shirts with him.”
Wow, Jace, way to go! This little boy has such a patriotic spirit and his support for those who deserve it should never be knocked!
